Meet Katherine Frederick
Katherine was born into an entrepreneurially-minded family and has had a lifelong drive to support various philanthropic endeavors that translate into the drive she has to ensure KFE’s clients succeed.
In 2007, Katherine left Cleveland OH to drive to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to support those suffering from the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Her level of support landed her in the VOLAG Department of FEMA (the home-base to all of the national entities) as a volunteer and liaison to new volunteers being onboarded to help. I supplied volunteers with updated maps of shelters, distribution centers, active roadways, etc.
In 2008, Katherine began working with an emergency shelter for homeless children and runaways, followed by 3-years of work with foster children aging out of the system as an Office Manager and Bookkeeper.
After 4 years of working in the non-profit sector, Katherine then worked with Engineering Firms, which led her to ACEC Louisiana working as an Executive Assistant, Bookkeeper, and Membership Manager. Working with the top engineering Professionals and Principals in Louisiana, she was exposed to conversations concerning business ownership, government policy and advocacy.
Upon moving back to Ohio, she began work as the Director for CMSD Rows (a non-profit community organization) which introduced inner-city school district students to the sport of rowing. We offered transportation, tutoring, and mentorship. Because participation was paid through scholarships, they were able to row with the local youth rowing team, formally Cleveland Scholastic Rowing Association.
In 2013, Katherine began working with a local construction company as the St. Jude Dream Home Liaison. With her team’s efforts, they began the social media launch for construction costs of a St. Jude dream home. This newer marketing concept earned them the first-ever award for “Best Media Integration” in 2014 to highlight their success in building houses for next to nothing. The team was also successful in constructing a record-breaking house to be raffled off to raise money for the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. All 8,000 tickets were sold out in 6 hours - making it the fastest sell out of raffle tickets in St. Jude history. Below is a highlight that speaks to this project:
In 2019, Katherine took on the role of Vice President for the Nasrallah Family Foundation - an organization that supports research, awareness and advocacy for Alzheimer’s. This sparked the launch of “Ground Works Out Drives Alzheimer’s" which is an annual charity golf outing, created with the mission of raising funds for the Alzheimer’s Association. Since 2019, the outing has surpassed $100k in fundraising and continues to grow each year.
